A blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape La Folie is easily the most modern style wine in the lineup from this great estate. It has an oak-tinged, brilliant bouquet of black raspberry, wild strawberries, graphite, lead pencil, violets, and toasted spice. Rich, full-bodied, powerful, and concentrated, the tannins build with time in the glass. This will be one for the patient consumers out there. Hide bottles for at least 5-6 years and it should have a long, 15+ year drink window.
