While a late harvest cuvee that’s certainly rich and voluptuous, the 2007 La Ferme du Mont Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vendange is not a dessert wine and shows a classical profile of black cherries and plum sauce styled fruits to go with meat juice, licorice, toasted spice, and roasted herbs that carry into a full-bodied, powerful palate. Concentrated, layered, and beautifully balanced, with sweet fruit, solid freshness, and chewy tannin, this outstanding Châteauneuf-du-Pape benefits from a decant, and has upwards of two decades of longevity.
