Even better, with additional richness in its tropical, pineapple, sautéed peach, honeysuckle and brioche-scented bouquet, the 2004 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée des Generations Marie Léoncie is a sensational blend of 85% Roussanne, 10% Clairette and 5% Bourboulenc that was aged completely in new French oak barrels. Medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated, but still backwards and tight at the moment, it needs a year or two of cellaring and will have a decade or more of longevity.
