A blend of 40% Syrah, 30% Mourvèdre and 30% Grenache, the 2019 Lirac La Reine Des Bois reveals a deep purple hue as well as a masculine, mineral bouquet of cassis, raspberry, ground pepper, graphite and smoked meat. It is full-bodied, has a seamless texture, big tannins and a beautiful finish. There is enough tannin and underlying structure to warrant 2-3 years of aging, and it will keep easily over the next 10-15 years. It is still the top Lirac of the vintage and outperforms many Chateauneuf du Pape.
