Xavier Vignon Lirac Inspiration 2022 is a classic blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre grown on clay and galet soils in the heart of Lirac. The wine balances power and freshness thanks to careful vinification and ageing mainly in concrete tanks, preserving fruit purity. The nose shows intense aromas of dark fruits, ripe plum, black olive, spice and garrigue with subtle menthol notes. I loved the 2022 Lirac. This deeply colored barrel sample has rocking notes of blackberry and raspberry fruits, spice, and incense. With medium to full body, a pure, elegant texture, and ultra-fine tannins, it does everything right and is a terrific wine. The blend is 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, and the rest Cinsault, brought up in a mix of concrete tanks and French oak barrels.
