In the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine de Marcoux stands out through a philosophy deeply rooted in nature and tradition. Since the 1990s, Catherine and Sophie Armenier have championed the values of biodynamic viticulture, becoming pioneers in the appellation. Their vision—carried out with rigor and humility—yields wines that are pure, vibrant, and remarkably elegant.
A family estate attuned to its terroir
The Armenier family has been cultivating vines for several generations. Today, the estate extends over a mosaic of exceptional terroirs, including parcels located in the famous “lieux-dits” of La Crau, Gallimardes and Charbonnières. Domaine de Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape expresses all the richness and diversity of the appellation, with a deep respect for the living soil, the plant, and the moon that gives rhythm to the work.
A pioneering biodynamic approach
Certified organic since 1991, the estate has long been recognized for its commitment to biodynamics. No synthetic chemicals, herbal preparations, natural composts, gentle tilling, and protected microbial life—all practices aim to enhance the vineyard’s vitality and reveal the soul of each terroir. The same logic applies to winemaking: indigenous yeasts, separate vinification of parcels, little to no sulfur, and gentle aging with no new oak.
Blended wines of great precision
Domaine de Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge is a blend dominated by Grenache, with Mourvèdre, Syrah, and Cinsault. It reveals aromas of black fruit, sweet spices, and garrigue, with a broad, elegant palate and impressive aging potential. The 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 vintages each offer a sincere and nuanced interpretation of their respective years.
Domaine de Marcoux Vieilles Vignes, from very old parcels on rolled pebbles, is a rare cuvée—deep, structured, and built for cellaring. Domaine de Marcoux Blanc, mineral and floral, is also among the appellation’s top whites, prized for its freshness and tension.
