Founded in 1946 in Ampuis, Domaine Guigal, heir to a thousand-year-old winegrowing tradition in Côte-Rôtie, has been run by Marcel Guigal since 1961. With the arrival of his son Philippe in 1975, the Guigal family now represents three generations dedicated to the great wines of the Rhône Valley.
The estate’s history has been marked by strategic acquisitions, including Etablissements Vidal-Fleury in the 1980s and Château d’Ampuis in 1995. Expansion continued with the Jean-Louis Grippat and Vallouit estates in 2001.
Since 2003, Maison Guigal has been involved in cooperage at Château d’Ampuis, adding an artisanal touch to its expertise. In 2006, Domaine de Bonserine joined the family, followed in 2017 by the purchase of the prestigious Château de Nalys in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, marking a presence in the southern Rhône Valley.
From humble beginnings in a cellar to three hectares of wine cellars, Domaine Guigal embodies family history and passion. Dedicated to selecting, growing and marketing wines, the Guigal family celebrates the Rhône Valley’s greatest appellations.
