A Young Estate, Yet Already Remarkable
Created in 2020, Domaine Les Quatre Piliers takes its name from an emblematic locality, around which nearly 25 parcels spread over four distinct terroirs. This mosaic of soils, exposures and microclimates offers an incomparable richness: sauvignon blanc, chenin blanc, pinot noir, cabernet franc and côt (malbec) flourish in a rare balance. From its very first vintage, the domaine has had a clear ambition: to produce authentic, precise and elegant wines, far removed from industrial standards.
Here, each plot is meticulously tended, the vines are organically cultivated, and manual harvesting preserves the integrity of the fruit. The cellar, modern and perfectly designed, is a natural extension of the vineyard: fermentations with indigenous yeasts, gentle extractions and patient aging in oak barrels from local forests. Valentin Desloges pays particular attention to the impact of wood, so much so that he has embarked on an ambitious project to eventually make his own barrels from the oak trees of the Loches forest, just a few kilometers from the estate.
A Philosophy of Purity and Precision
Far from trends and winemaking artifices, Valentin Desloges embraces an authentic and minimalist approach: respecting the fruit, revealing the terroir, and preserving the wine’s natural balance. Fermentations are carried out without added yeasts, with no systematic filtration, and minimal intervention. Each wine is crafted as a unique creation, designed to express its own distinct identity.
This is reflected in cuvées marked by freshness, finesse and aromatic precision. The whites, made from Sauvignon and Chenin, are distinguished by their brightness, tension and lemony, floral and mineral notes. The reds, made from Pinot Noir, Côt and Cabernet Franc, are seductive with their delicacy, depth and elegant structure, underpinned by fine tannins.
Wines that have already won awards and acclaim
Despite its youth, the estate is already attracting the attention of specialized guides and discerning wine lovers. The Guide Bettane + Desseauve 2024 awarded it 2 stars and praised the quality of its cuvées, in particular its Sauvignons, considered to be models of their kind, and its floral, pulpy Pinot Noir, which “thwarts all codes”. The estate’s wines have become one of the new Touraine must-haves, and are proving a real hit with collectors and wine enthusiasts alike.
