Since 2016, Bergerie de l’Arcade has crafted expressive, low-intervention wines in the Hérault, guided early on by Laurent Vaillé. The 2022 vintage is a bold and structured red, blending Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan from select parcels. Each grape is vinified separately, then matured for 24 months in barrel before final blending. The nose shows black cherry, plum, wild herbs and spice. The palate is concentrated yet refined, with fine tannins and a vibrant, long finish. A soulful wine with great ageing potential.

Why choose this wine:

Because it’s a rare southern jewel with depth, precision and pedigree. The Soulas brothers have created a wine rooted in tradition yet full of personality. If you love authentic, structured Languedoc reds with a touch of mystery, this one deserves a place in your cellar.

One of the top 2004s, the Domaine de la Mordorée Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de la Reine des Bois is very unique with a dark fruit and coffee slant to the nose. Medium bodied with beautiful structure and a long finish.
