Produced entirely from old-vine Roussanne, this cuvée is renowned for the richness, depth and longevity this variety can achieve in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. With extended bottle age, the youthful white and yellow fruit character of Roussanne evolves towards honey, beeswax, dried fruit, preserved apricot, nuts, spice and complex tertiary nuances. At this age, bottle provenance and storage conditions are essential, but a perfectly cellared example can provide a fascinating expression of mature white Rhône wine, where texture and tertiary complexity take precedence over youthful freshness.
