This outstanding Châteauneuf-du-Pape reveals layers of ripe black fruits, licorice, violet, sweet spices, and a hint of smokiness. Why choose this wine:

A historic estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Château de Vaudieu delivers with Val de Dieu 2017 a structured, expressive wine showing superb balance. The sunny vintage brings concentration, but the finesse remains intact. Ideal with roast game, ribeye steak, or rich sauced dishes, this cuvée also promises excellent aging potential. A distinctive, terroir-driven Châteauneuf-du-Pape for lovers of fine Rhône wines.

The 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape Val De Dieu is always the most modern wine in the range, and in 2017 it's a blend of 66% Grenache and 34% Syrah, with the Grenache aged in demi-muids and the Syrah in new barrels. Deep, saturated purple in color, with notes of crème de cassis, ground pepper, bouquet garni and crushed flowers, it's medium- to full-bodied and concentrated, with subtle oak in the background and an excellent finish.
