The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape was brilliant and is certainly one of the stars of the vintage. Composed of 55% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre and the rest Syrah and other authorized grape varieties, it shines with elegance and purity, offering a wonderful core of red and black fruits, medium to full body, silky and incredibly polished tannins, flawless balance and already complex notes of flowers, serene garrigue and Provençal spices. It possesses the domaine's incredible ability to bring wonderful intensity and richness while remaining graceful and fluid. It reminds me slightly of the 2012, or even the 2006, and although it's already very enjoyable, it will evolve for over 20 years in cold cellars.
