Clos des Papes 2023 red is a very well-balanced vintage, both elegant and structured, with very ripe, silky tannins. This wine is long on the palate, definitely a vintage for laying down, characterized by black fruit aromas (blackcurrant, blackberry), but also the spicy character of Mourvèdre. The percentages are identical to the previous year, i.e. 55% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, 5% Counoise, Vaccarèse, Muscardin and Cinsault. This is definitely a wine for laying down, as it is very fresh. As this wine is unfiltered, a very slight deposit may appear on certain vintages. Simply remove the bottle from the cellar a little earlier and decant. Our wines should be served at a temperature of 14-15°. It's a good idea to decant them, but it's not necessary to do so more than 2 hours beforehand, as it's always interesting to appreciate the evolution in the glass.
