Châteauneuf Du Pape Père Pape 2022, made entirely from Grenache grown in sandy soils, is much more fragrant and straightforward. It has aromas of sweet red fruits (strawberry, raspberry), sappy garrigue, spring flowers and a minerality akin to crushed stone. I love its elegance. It's medium-bodied, with a pure, seamless mouthfeel and fine tannins. It will shine for 10 to 12 years. This cuvée comes from the lieux-dits Les Bédines and Bois Dauphin. It was partially de-stemmed and spent 20 months in terracotta jars and larger foudres. Just over 300 cases were produced.
