As always, Châteauneuf-du-Pape Deus Ex Machina 2018 is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvèdre. The Grenache was aged exclusively in concrete tanks, while the Mourvèdre was aged in new barrels. This rich, fleshy vintage, with a full-bodied mid-palate, reveals a complex nose with aromas of dried meats, toasted spices, peppery garrigue, damp earth, blackcurrants and blackberries. It perfectly expresses the accessible, harmonious style of the vintage, while retaining power, richness and a long finish. A beautifully crafted wine, with a more open and immediate profile than other vintages of this cuvée. 🍷✨ . Jeb Dunnuck
