Why choose this wine:

Because it captures the soul of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s finest terroirs with authenticity and flair. Old-vine Grenache from galets soils, expertly crafted and built to last. A rare and rewarding bottle for collectors and connoisseurs alike.

Seriously impressive is the 2019 Domaine de la Biscarelle Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Anglaises. A blend of 80% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre, and the balance Syrah and Cinsault, aged all in cement tank, the wine delivers a stunningly pure bouquet of blacker styled fruits to go with big minerality, licorice, smoked herb, and floral, perfumed notes that show more with air. Full bodied and dense on the palate, with sweet fruit, superb balance, and a brilliant texture, this has a decidedly serious feel and possesses loads of structure and tannin on the long finish. While it’s approachable now due to the fruit, this has the structure to age and should have a solid 10-12+ year drink window.
