M. Chapoutier Chateauneuf du Pape Croix de Bois 2006

The 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Croix de Bois reveals intense Provencal character, with notes of pepper, roasted meat, garrigue and kirsch liqueur, full body, good richness and a long finish. Croix de Bois comes from the eastern sector of the Bédarrides region. Chapoutier has changed the ageing method for these cuvées, which are now aged entirely in vats. Yields for this cuvée (from century-old Grenache vines in the Galets Roulets region) are generally less than 0.5 tons of fruit per acre.
