M. Chapoutier Chateauneuf du Pape Croix de Bois 2018

Châteauneuf du Pape Croix de Bois 2018 comes from the Bédarrides (eastern) part of the appellation, cultivated on clay soils covered with rolled pebbles. While the nose and attack offer open, voluminous notes of ripe cherry and raspberry, the wine seems to tighten up on the full-bodied midpalate, gaining structure and salinity while adding taut flavors of cranberry and orange zest framed by silky tannins. There's a lively tension to this wine.
