This 2003 Roc d’Anglade shows the elegance of a mastered southern style. Aged 16 months on lees in large oak, unfiltered, it reveals a calm and complex expression. Black fruit, olives, soft spices and bay leaf define a bold, elegant nose. The palate is fleshy and velvety, with surprising freshness for a 20-year-old southern wine. A rare, perfectly aged bottle.

Why choose this wine:

Because it embodies a great southern wine that has aged with balance and grace. Rémy Pedreno crafted this unclassified, uncompromising cuvée with precision and care. The warm 2003 vintage is handled here with freshness, depth and restraint. A wine of strong character and complexity, now at its peak.

The robe is deep ruby with brick reflections. The nose reveals black olive, ripe black fruits, bay leaf, tapenade and soft spices. The palate is dense and velvety with a fleshy, balanced texture, soft tannins and great length. The finish is long, spicy and lightly smoky, with outstanding freshness for such an evolved wine.
