Domaine de la Vieille Julienne Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Trois Sources 2022 is an exceptional cuvée, showcasing the full complexity of the estate’s terroir. Its Grenache-dominant blend, complemented by Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Counoise, provides remarkable depth. The dark and vibrant color leads to an intense nose of dark fruits, sweet spices, garrigue, and licorice, with a delicate floral hint. On the palate, it impresses with its firm tannic structure, density, and balanced freshness, finishing long and vibrant.

Why choose this wine:

Domaine de la Vieille Julienne Les Trois Sources 2022 is a bold and elegant Châteauneuf-du-Pape, perfect for those who appreciate terroir-driven wines. Its aromatic intensity, richness, and balance make it a cellar-worthy wine, evolving beautifully over the decades. Pair it with slow-cooked meats, game, or truffle dishes, to fully experience its complexity and controlled power. An essential wine for serious Châteauneuf-du-Pape lovers.

The 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Trois Sources comes from a terroir similar to the Reserve and is based on 70% Grenache, 10% Cinsault, 5% each Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Counoise, and the rest a mix of varieties. Ripe blackberries, roasted garrigue, loamy soil, licorice, and a kiss of graphite all emerge on the nose, and this beauty hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a layered, seamless mouthfeel, beautiful yet building tannins, and a great finish. It's slightly more open and expressive than the Les Hauts-Lieux, yet I suspect both of these cuvées will cruise for two decades.
