Château Mont-Redon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Le Plateau 2017 is an exceptional cuvée, produced only in outstanding vintages from the estate’s oldest vines on the renowned plateau of rolled pebbles. This blend of 63% Grenache Noir, 31% Syrah, and 6% Mourvèdre undergoes 18 months of aging in Burgundy barrels and tanks, followed by meticulous selection and an additional 12 months of aging in mass before bottling. The deep and intense nose reveals ripe black fruits, smoky notes, mocha, and roasted aromas. On the palate, the wine boasts a dense, structured profile, layered with spices, black fruit, and garrigue, leading to an elegant, saline-driven, and remarkably long finish.

Why choose this wine:

Château Mont-Redon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Le Plateau 2017 is a powerful yet refined terroir-driven wine, perfect for lovers of top-tier Rhône crus. Its balance of depth, finesse, and complexity makes it an excellent match for roasted meats, game, rich sauces, and aged cheeses. With outstanding scores, including 97/100 from Bettane & Desseauve, this highly limited cuvée is a collector’s wine, built for long-term aging and unforgettable tasting experiences.

The Châteauneuf-du-Pape Le Plateau 2017 comes exclusively from the Mont-Redon plateau and is a limited-edition cuvée, made from a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, aged in both old and new oak barrels. Its intense purple color precedes an expressive bouquet of black raspberry, blackcurrant, graphite, violet, and mineral notes of crushed rock. Marked by a beautiful woody aging in the background, this wine displays great aromatic depth, a powerful structure, and ripe, present tannins, while maintaining a remarkable balance. A must-have wine for aging, it will gain in complexity after 4 to 5 years of aging and can be enjoyed over the next 20 years.
