The 2023 Côtes du Rhône from Domaine Charvin is a standout vintage. Made primarily from Grenache, with a touch of Syrah and Mourvèdre, it showcases the house’s signature style: no oak, pure fruit, and natural vinification. The nose is full of ripe cherry, raspberry and dried herbs. On the palate, it’s juicy, bright and peppery, with supple tannins and excellent balance. A wine of joy and simplicity, crafted with precision.

One of the highlights of my Côtes du Rhône tastings was the 2023 Côtes du Rhône from Domaine Charvin. Made from 81% Grenache, complemented mainly by Mourvèdre and Syrah, it is vinified in exactly the same way as the estate’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It reveals a gorgeous bouquet of blackberries, rose petals, peppery herbs, and earthy notes. This is a wine that is both fresh and elegant, yet also concentrated and textured. Enjoy it anytime over the next 10 to 15 years.
