Chapelle Saint Theodoric Chateauneuf-du-Pape La Guigasse 2020

The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape La Guigasse is cut from the same cloth, with a large spicy bouquet of ripe black cherries, Asian spices, Provençal garrigue and sappy flowers. It is rich, medium to full-bodied, with an excellent mid-palate and consistent texture. It's a big mouthful of Southern Rhône classicism that can be drunk now or cellared for 10-15 years. As with Grand Pin, the grapes are unde-stemmed Grenache from the locality of La Guigasse (also on sandy soils) and aged in used demi-muids.
