This vintage impresses with its expressive nose, revealing ripe black fruits, sweet spices, garrigue, and a hint of licorice. On the palate, it offers a full-bodied and silky structure, supported by well-integrated tannins and a refreshing balance that enhances its aromatic intensity. Why choose this wine:

Domaine Mayard Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2022 is a bold yet harmonious wine, perfect for lovers of great Rhône reds. Its balance between power and finesse makes it an excellent pairing for grilled meats, rich sauces, and aged cheeses. Bottled in magnum, it ensures optimal aging potential, developing even more beautifully over time. An exceptional Châteauneuf-du-Pape, ideal for immediate enjoyment or long-term cellaring.

A blend of 80% Grenache and 10% each of Cinsault and Mourvèdre, the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape should easily be an outstanding wine. Bright, exotic red fruits, tropical flowers, and orange blossom-like notes all emerge from this pretty, elegant, perfumed 2022. I think it's going to drink nicely right out of the gate, yet there's solid structure here as well, and I have no doubt it will evolve for 10-15 years if well stored. It the same 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, and 10% Cinsault as the 2021, and the Grenache was partially destemmed, and this is currently resting in new foudre.
