Domaine Giraud Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Gallimardes 2022 is an exceptional single-site expression produced entirely from Grenache grown on the pebbly, rocky soils of the Gallimardes lieu-dit. Awarded 97 points by Jeb Dunnuck, the 2022 stands out for its remarkable purity, finesse and unmistakably Provençal character. Black raspberry and black cherry are joined by spring flowers, floral incense and distinctive iron-like mineral nuances. Medium to full-bodied, the palate combines impressive depth with ultra-fine tannins and a superb finish. The 2022 vintage is particularly noteworthy at Domaine Giraud because Grenaches de Pierre was not produced following the devastating August storm. Dunnuck considers Les Gallimardes more than capable of making up for its absence, placing the wine among the crème de la crème of the vintage. A superb expression of Grenache with the structure and balance required for long-term cellaring.
