La Bastide Saint-Dominique Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Chapelle Blanc 2024 is an absolutely distinctive cuvée among the great white wines of the appellation. Made exclusively from Clairette Rose, it reveals the full nobility and depth this historic Châteauneuf-du-Pape grape variety can achieve when handled with particular ambition.
Rated 95/100 by Jeb Dunnuck, the 2024 vintage ranks, in his words, among the “crème de la crème” of the vintage.
Vinification and ageing take place over nine months in 100% new French oak barrels. This ambitious approach gives the wine a broad, deep and textured character while considerably enriching its aromatic complexity. Ripe orchard fruit, brioche, caramelized orange and spices create a spectacular bouquet.
On the palate, the wine is round, concentrated and generous, with impressive mid-palate volume and remarkable length.
Its rarity further enhances the appeal of this bottle, with only around 166 cases produced.
Despite being already highly seductive, La Chapelle Blanc 2024 possesses the concentration and structure required to evolve for 10 to 15 years under good cellaring conditions.
A rare and highly distinctive cuvée, intended for enthusiasts and collectors of the finest white Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines.

Why choose this wine:

La Chapelle Blanc 2024 brings together a particularly rare combination of characteristics: 100% Clairette Rose, vinification and ageing entirely in new French oak barrels, production limited to just 166 cases, and a 95/100 score from Jeb Dunnuck.
Its richness and texture give it a profile very different from Châteauneuf-du-Pape whites that are more focused on immediate freshness. Here, the estate seeks depth, volume and complexity, while retaining enough balance to support a long evolution in bottle.
Jeb Dunnuck places it among the finest white wines of the 2024 vintage.

The wine reveals a beautiful deep gold color, bright and luminous. The nose is immediately expressive, with ripe orchard fruit, particularly pear and peach, accompanied by brioche, caramelized orange and a wide range of spicy nuances. The oak ageing brings toasted and pastry-like notes that enrich the bouquet without masking the fruit.
The palate is broad, round and concentrated, with a rich, enveloping texture. The mid-palate impresses with its volume and depth, while the structure provides enough energy to maintain remarkable balance.
The finish is long, complex and persistent, with ripe fruit, candied citrus, spices and delicate brioche notes. A great gastronomic white wine, powerful and textured, which will gain even more complexity with a few years of cellaring.
