Les Jardins de Babylone Sec 2017 is one of Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau’s rarest and most fascinating cuvées. Produced on the steep slopes of Aubertin, in the heart of Jurançon, this wine is made exclusively from Petit Manseng.
Initially released under the Jurançon Sec appellation, the estate later chose to label it as Vin de France in order to retain complete freedom in both its expression and winemaking. Carrying on Didier Dagueneau’s vision, Louis-Benjamin has created an extraordinary white wine in which richness, tension and minerality are balanced with remarkable precision.
The vines are farmed biodynamically, the grapes are harvested entirely by hand, and the wine undergoes a long ageing period of at least five years in large wooden foudres specially designed for the estate.
The 2017 vintage impresses with its aromatic intensity, exceptional depth and remarkable ability to evolve for more than twenty years. A true collector’s wine, it ranks among the finest white wines of southwestern France.

Why choose this wine:

This is one of the purest expressions of Petit Manseng available today. Its extraordinary balance between concentration, freshness and minerality makes it a truly unique collector's wine capable of evolving beautifully for more than two decades.

Bright golden colour. The nose reveals exotic fruits, pineapple, mango, apricot, preserved citrus, white flowers, delicate honey and fresh herbs layered over striking mineral notes. The palate is broad, textured and remarkably vibrant, with outstanding acidity balancing the richness of the Petit Manseng. The finish is exceptionally long, saline and crystalline, promising decades of graceful evolution.
