The 2019 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Sanctus Sanctorum is one of those wines that's hard to describe, so much does it evolve with each tasting.
With its translucent ruby color, it reveals a kaleidoscope of aromas combining blackberries, black raspberries, violets, Provençal garrigue, ground pepper, flowers and smoke, offering an extraordinary sensory experience.
Made from 100% Grenache from a single plot in the La Crau locality, and aged in demi-muids for several wines, it seduces with its perfect balance, controlled power, full, silky mouthfeel, perfectly ripe tannins and sumptuous finish.
Like the estate's other cuvées, it already offers pleasure today, but will gain in depth after 4-5 years in the cellar and evolve gracefully over two decades. . Jeb Dunnuck
