Pierre Usséglio Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de mon Aïeul 2016 is a flagship cuvée, crafted from 100% Grenache, sourced from over 70-year-old vines planted on Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s finest terroirs (rolled pebbles, sand, and red clay). This exceptional vintage delivers a powerful nose of ripe red and black fruits, licorice, garrigue, and sweet spices. The palate is velvety and deep, with a powerful structure, silky tannins, and an exceptionally long finish. Aged in barrels and demi-muids, this wine gains complexity and remarkable aging potential.

The 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de Mon Aïeul is a deep, rich and vibrant red that offers a kaleidoscope of kirsch liqueur, garrigue, crushed flowers, Asian spices and charcuterie. It's more opulent and sexier than the 2010, fresher and purer than the 2007, with deep, full-bodied aromas and flavors, and a huge finish. It's a sensational, heavenly Châteauneuf-du-Pape at the top of my scale. This cuvée is composed of 100% unde-stemmed Grenache, aged in 20% demi-muids and the rest in concrete tanks.
