Since 2016, Bergerie de l’Arcade has been crafting auteur cuvées in the Hérault region, under the guidance of Laurent Vaillé. The 2023 vintage confirms the estate’s racy, singular style: a deep, dark red with an intense nose of black cherry, plum, spices and garrigue. A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan, each grape variety is vinified separately, then aged for 24 months in barrels, before blending and bottling. On the palate, the wine is noble and juicy, with fine tannins, spicy length and remarkable energy. This is a sincere, terroir-driven wine with great ageing potential.

Why choose this wine:

Because it’s a rare southern jewel with depth, precision and pedigree. The Soulas brothers have created a wine rooted in tradition yet full of personality. If you love authentic, structured Languedoc reds with a touch of mystery, this one deserves a place in your cellar.

One of the top 2004s, the Domaine de la Mordorée Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de la Reine des Bois is very unique with a dark fruit and coffee slant to the nose. Medium bodied with beautiful structure and a long finish.
