The Clos du Jas L’Aspre White 2023 is an extraordinary cuvée and a true rarity within the Lirac appellation. Produced from old vines – some over 100 years old – organically farmed and carefully vinified, it reflects the estate’s unique terroir of sand and clay-limestone soils. Aged for 24 months in oak barrels and stainless steel, this limited-production wine offers depth, elegance, and remarkable freshness. A gastronomic white with outstanding cellaring potential.

Pale gold robe with bright reflections. The nose is layered with white flowers, citrus zest, ripe pear, sweet spices, and mineral notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and silky, supported by saline freshness and mineral-driven tension. The long, persistent finish highlights both depth and elegance. A refined white with 10–15 years of cellaring potential.

Why choose this wine:

This 2023 Lirac White reveals the full expression of its northern-exposed terroir, where sandy soils and clay-limestone provide balance and finesse. Its blend of Roussanne, Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Piquepoul, and rare grapes (Clairette Rose, Grenache Gris) creates a highly complex bouquet. With 24 months of aging in 300L barrels and stainless steel vats, it combines purity, minerality, and elegance, making it one of the Rhône’s most exciting whites.

A white (20% Roussanne. 20% Marsanne, 15% Grenache blanc. 15% Clairette blanche, 15% Bourboulenc. 10% Piquepoul blanc, 5% Clairette rose, Grenache gris... ). The vines are 70 years old, and the wine has been aged for 24 months in 300-liter barrels. To release its full potential and admire its orange color, it should be decanted 2 hours before tasting. Its balance of creaminess and freshness (fruity and floral notes) is divine with cheese, preferably blue cheese. Gregory estimates its ageing potential at between 5 and... 25 years!
