The 2021 vintage of Domaine du Pégau’s iconic Cuvée Réservée is a return to classic balance and structure. Made from predominantly Grenache with Syrah, Mourvèdre and a field blend of other traditional grapes, it is vinified without destemming and aged in large old foudres. The nose reveals black cherry, dried herbs, garrigue spice and hints of leather. The palate is full yet fresh, with firm tannins and a savory, mineral finish. A restrained and elegant version, true to its roots.

Why choose this wine:

Because it reflects the soul of traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape: unfiltered, unpolished, and age-worthy. The 2021 vintage brings freshness and precision, making it an excellent choice for cellaring or pairing with robust, flavorful cuisine. A must-have for Rhône lovers.

The Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Réservée 2021 reminds me of the 2008 with its complex, elegant and very pretty style. Black cherry, leather and peppery Provencal herbs define the aromas, and the wine is medium-bodied, with a silky, elegant mouthfeel, fine tannins and remarkable length.
