Châteauneuf-du-Pape Le Plateau 2017 comes exclusively from the Mont-Redon plateau and is a limited-edition cuvée made from a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, aged in old and new oak barrels. Its intense purple color precedes an expressive bouquet of black raspberry, blackcurrant, graphite, violet and mineral notes of crushed rock. Marked by a fine woody ageing process in the background, this wine displays great aromatic depth, a powerful structure and ripe, present tannins, while retaining remarkable balance. An essential wine for laying down, it will gain in complexity after 4 to 5 years' ageing and can be enjoyed over the next 20 years. Jeb Dunnuck
