Why Choose This Wine? :

Domaine du Banneret's Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 2022 is the fruit of traditional winemaking methods. Produced from vines over sixty years old, planted on a mosaic of terroirs, this wine is made from a blend of 13 red and white grape varieties, typical of the appellation. After manual harvesting, the grapes are vinified naturally, followed by 24 months' ageing in oak barrels, giving the wine a unique aromatic complexity and remarkable ageing potential. On tasting, it reveals bewitching aromas of wild red fruit, cherry, black pepper, flowers and licorice, with a touch of black tea and a subtle smoky note. The palate is structured, with precise tannins and a persistent finish. This 2022 vintage goes perfectly with meats, mature cheeses or chocolate desserts. To fully appreciate its richness and complexity, we recommend serving it at room temperature, after 2 to 3 hours' aeration.

The Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2022 is magnificent, with a superb perfume of black cherries, blackberries, savory garrigue and Provencal spices. A perfect reflection of the vintage, it boasts a silky, elegant texture, medium body, extremely fine tannins and a superb finish. This cuvée is never the most powerful or opulent of a vintage, but it shines with perfect balance, nuance, complexity and harmonious texture. A superb Châteauneuf-du-Pape to enjoy over the next 15 years. Jeb Dunnuck
