Why choose this wine:

Domaine des Bernardins Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise 2023 is a must-have for Vin Doux Naturel enthusiasts, combining aromatic richness and impeccable balance. Sourced from old Muscat vines, it captures the complexity and elegance of its terroir. Its natural freshness and lingering finish make it a perfect pairing for fruit-based desserts, citrus tarts, blue cheese, or foie gras. With excellent aging potential, it will develop even greater depth over time.

Exotic and perfumed, the dessert styled Domaine des Bernardins Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise sports a predominately gold color, with slight orange tints, to go with upfront aromas of overripe peaches, honeyed apricot, orange peel, flower oil, and potpourri on the nose. With good purity and focus on the nose, this is round and fleshy on the palate, showing lots of sweetness, decent acidity, and a clean, lengthy finish. A touch gangly and in need of a couple years in bottle (if drinking soon, decant), this is definitely not a straight-forward dessert wine and will not be for everyone, however, I think it will reward 3-5 years in the cellar, and have a long drink window.
