Clos du Calvaire Chateauneuf du Pape red 2024

The Clos du Calvaire Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2024 is the historic cuvée of this family estate, first produced in 1923. It draws its complexity from vineyards planted across the diverse terroirs of the appellation, including rolled pebbles, sand, limestone, red sandstone and clay. Grenache plays the leading role, complemented by Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Counoise. The vineyards are organically farmed and harvested by hand, while spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and restrained extraction preserve purity and finesse. Relatively short ageing in tanks and old foudres keeps oak influence discreet and allows the fruit and terroir to remain at the forefront. The 2024 vintage is particularly attractive for its freshness, fine tannins and harmonious character, offering an elegant and refined interpretation of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
