Mas de Daumas Gassac IGP Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert – Cité d’Aniane Blanc 2025 is one of the Languedoc’s most distinctive white wines. Its remarkably diverse blend comprises 35% Viognier, 24% Chardonnay, 15% Petit Manseng, 10% Chenin Blanc, 6% Muscat Petit Grain and 10% rare varieties including Sauvignon, Marsanne, Roussanne, Petit Courbu, Muscat d’Alexandrie, Gros Manseng, Sémillon and Fiano. The 2025 growing season combined a cold winter and cool, rainy spring with a sunny summer that remained warm without excessive heat, allowing the grapes to achieve full ripeness while retaining freshness and tension. The 38-year-old vines grow on limestone soils in the Gassac Valley. Grapes are harvested entirely by hand, followed by two to three days of skin maceration, fermentation in stainless steel and five months of ageing in tank. This approach preserves the remarkable aromatic complexity of the blend while maintaining freshness and precision. Viognier provides floral and stone-fruit character, Chardonnay adds texture, while Petit Manseng and Chenin contribute tension and energy.

Why choose this wine:

Mas de Daumas Gassac Blanc stands apart through its extraordinary multi-varietal blend and distinctive limestone terroir. Despite its aromatic richness and generous texture, the wine retains impressive freshness and ageing potential. The estate describes two distinct phases of development: vibrant fruit and freshness during its first years, followed by a fascinating secondary phase in which more complex, oxidative nuances reminiscent of mature Sauternes and Jerez can emerge.

Bright pale gold. The expressive bouquet combines white peach, apricot, pear and citrus with white flowers, honeysuckle and subtle exotic nuances. The palate is broad and generous, with Viognier providing aromatic richness and Chardonnay adding texture and depth. Petit Manseng and Chenin bring freshness, tension and energy, balancing the ripe fruit beautifully. Citrus, yellow fruit and floral notes lead into a long, precise and mineral finish. A distinctive Mediterranean white combining generosity, complexity and remarkable freshness.
