Mounir Saouma’s 2019 Amphorae Gift Set offers a unique tasting experience with four bottles of Châteauneuf-du-Pape from all-natural vinifications. These wines have been aged in permeable clay jars, without the addition of human intervention or wax, for a pure expression of terroir. Each bottle in this box reflects a particular aspect of the region and of Mounir Saouma’s savoir-faire.

  • La Bigote 2019: A remarkably pure expression, combining the depth of a great vintage with an amphora vinification that brilliantly reveals the finesse of Grenache and the authenticity of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape terroir.

  • La Crau 2019: A red Châteauneuf-du-Pape from the heights of the plateau, sandy soil. This powerful, elegant wine offers aromas of ripe fruit and spices.

  • Pignan 2019: This red Châteauneuf-du-Pape, grown on a north-facing terroir of sand and rolled pebbles, has exceptional finesse and freshness, with a long finish.

  • Pierredon 2019: A white Châteauneuf-du-Pape, composed of Grenache and Clairette, macerated for a year for a unique result, fresh and expressive, without being an orange wine.

The 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Arioso is a killer wine. This cuvée is always 100% Grenache sourced from the sandy soils of the Pignan lieu-dit, which is certainly one of the great terroirs of the appellation. Sensational notes of cassis, violets, crushed rocks, and spring flowers all flow to a deep, layered, seamless 2020 that has the purity and elegance of the vintage as well as fabulous depth and richness. Elegance and purity are the buzzwords here, but it packs ample texture and concentration. It's going to benefit from short-term cellaring and be very long lived.
