Château de Beaucastel Côtes du Rhône Coudoulet de Beaucastel Rouge 2024 is another outstanding expression of the Perrin family’s expertise in the Southern Rhône. Sourced from vineyards immediately beyond the northern boundary of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this celebrated cuvée reflects the character and traditional winemaking philosophy of Beaucastel. Awarded 92 points by Jeb Dunnuck in October 2026, the 2024 vintage combines generosity, freshness and remarkable elegance. The blend is composed of equal proportions of Mourvèdre, Grenache and Syrah, complemented by 10% Cinsault, and aged for 15 months in traditional foudres. Aromas of ripe black cherry, Provençal garrigue, spice and underbrush create an expressive and distinctly Mediterranean bouquet. Medium-bodied, the palate is juicy, rounded and beautifully balanced, with fine tannins and an appealingly supple texture. Dunnuck highlights the consistently impressive quality of Coudoulet de Beaucastel, and the 2024 is no exception. Already drinking beautifully, it also offers excellent ageing potential through 2038 and potentially beyond under ideal storage conditions.

Why choose this wine:

Coudoulet de Beaucastel Rouge 2024 offers an attractive introduction to the celebrated style of Château de Beaucastel. Its vineyards lie immediately beside Châteauneuf-du-Pape, while its traditional blend and 15 months of foudre ageing give the wine genuine Southern Rhône character. The 92-point Jeb Dunnuck rating confirms its quality, highlighting a combination of juicy fruit, Provençal spice, fine tannins and excellent balance. With a drinking window extending to 2038, it is equally appealing for immediate enjoyment or medium-term cellaring.

A blend of equal parts Mourvèdre, Grenache, and Syrah with 10% Cinsault, the 2024 Côtes Du Rhône Coudoulet De Beaucastel comes from vines just across the northern edge of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Black cherries, Provençal garrigue, spice, and sous bois all show on the nose. Aged 15 months in foudre, it's medium-bodied, with a juicy, rounded mouthfeel and fine tannins. This is always a terrific wine, and this release is no exception. It's already drinking well today yet will have a solid 10-12 years of longevity, and even longer if well stored. Drink 2026-2038.
