Produced from biodynamically farmed vines on sandy and galet soils, it showcases the richness of the appellation without excessive power. The 2024 vintage highlights freshness combined with perfectly controlled ripeness. The blend, dominated by Grenache with Mourvèdre and Cinsault, delivers harmony and approachability. Why choose this wine:

Domaine Mayard Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2024 stands out for its balance between finesse and intensity. The nose reveals ripe dark fruits, sweet spices, garrigue and delicate floral notes. The palate is silky, with depth and finely integrated tannins. This is not an overly extracted wine but one focused on precision and elegance, making it approachable young while still offering ageing potential. Crafted from biodynamic vineyards, it reflects both terroir and craftsmanship. A great choice for lovers of refined Southern Rhône wines.

A blend of 80% Grenache and 10% each Cinsault and Mourvèdre, the Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2023 should easily become an exceptional wine. Bright exotic red fruits, tropical flowers and orange notes emerge from this pretty, elegant and fragrant 2024. I think it will drink very well straight from the bottle, but it also has good structure, and I have no doubt it will evolve for 10-15 years if stored well. It features the same blend as the 2021 (80% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, 10% Cinsault), with partially destemmed Grenache, and is currently resting in new foudre.
