Why choose this wine:

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes 2019 from Domaine Tourbillon captures the richness of the vintage while maintaining freshness thanks to its limestone soils. The blend, led by Grenache with Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Muscardin, delivers depth and complexity. Careful vinification and ageing preserve fruit purity and refine the tannins. The wine reveals aromas of ripe red and black fruits, flowers, spice and garrigue. The palate is full, structured and elegant with fine tannins and good density. The finish is long, harmonious and mineral-driven. A wine that is both approachable and age-worthy.

Composed of 60% Grenache, 15% Syrah and Mourvèdre, with the remainder made up of Cinsault and Muscardin, the Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes 2019 was partially destemmed and aged entirely in concrete tanks. Sourced from the limestone soils of the lieu-dit Le Grand Deves, this sun-drenched vintage displays a deep ruby color and an intense bouquet of ripe dark fruits, candied cherry, spices and garrigue, with a subtle hint of licorice. The palate is full-bodied, generous and structured, driven by a rich texture, velvety tannins and excellent concentration. The 2019 vintage stands out for its controlled power and depth, while maintaining a fine balance. A complete wine, both expressive and built for ageing. Best enjoyed over the next 10 years.
