Produced in tiny quantities, this legendary Beaucastel cuvée received a perfect 100-point score from Jeb Dunnuck. The traditional blend is dominated by approximately 60% Mourvèdre and 15% Grenache, with Syrah and Cinsault completing the blend, followed by ageing in foudre. Mourvèdre gives Hommage à Jacques Perrin its distinctive depth, structure and extraordinary ability to age. The 2019 combines immense concentration with remarkable purity, revealing blueberry, candied violet, scorched earth and pepper alongside smoky and meaty nuances reminiscent of the Northern Rhône. Full-bodied and profoundly layered, with a stacked mid-palate and ripe, supple tannins, this is a monumental Châteauneuf-du-Pape built to evolve for decades.
