This cuvée, named after Jean-François' daughter, is one of the few to come from relatively young vines (on the scale of the estate, which dates back to the 17th century!), planted by Jean-François' father in 1986, on thin, very chalky soils mixed with grey marl, at the bottom of the Chalasses hillside. Here, the vines are cultivated like a veritable garden, with the soil regularly scratched so as not to compact it and to preserve all the life and bio-diversity so dear to the winemaker. Yield control is an absolute must, as Jean-François strives to obtain perfectly ripe, concentrated grapes, the only ones capable of conveying the messages of his terroir with finesse and intensity. Of course, he takes great care not to alter the purity of the grapes, using a totally natural vinification process with no added sulfur or other inputs. The wine dazzles with its complexity, density and straightforwardness, with candied lemon, fresh apple and quince, mirabelle plum, delicate notes of white flowers, verbena and chervil, greedy touches of butter and fine honey, and a slender, saline finish. The palate, with just the right amount of fat and texture at the start, is always impeccably dynamic and pure.
