Chateau de Vaudieu Chateauneuf-du-Pape Val de Dieu 2017

The 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape Val De Dieu is always the most modern wine in the range, and in 2017 it's a blend of 66% Grenache and 34% Syrah, with the Grenache aged in demi-muids and the Syrah in new barrels.
Deep, saturated purple in color, with notes of crème de cassis, ground pepper, bouquet garni and crushed flowers, it's medium to full-bodied and concentrated, with subtle oak in the background and an excellent, excellent finish.
This is another brilliant example of a cuvee that will benefit from short-term cellaring and cruising for 15 years or more. Jeb Dunnuck
