Chateau Rayas Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve 2010

With more finesse and elegance than the Pignan, but still plenty of density and concentration, the 2010 Châteauneuf Du Pape Réserve is a sensational wine from this estate, displaying a kaleidoscopic array of raspberries, darker cherries, dried flowers, garrigue and spices. Opening beautifully with time in the glass, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a layered, multidimensional texture, silky tannins and an excellent finish. Reminding me slightly of the 1990, it's delicious now and will be again in over 15 years.
