Clos du Caillou Châteauneuf-du-Pape Domaine du Caillou Réserve 2006, one of the vintage's finest wines, is the result of a meticulous blend: 60% Grenache from the La Guigasse locality, complemented by equal parts Mourvèdre and Syrah from the Les Bedines locality.. Aged for 18 months in demi-muid, it has a deep ruby/purple color, while its aromas evoke blackcurrant, truffle, meat juice, garrigue and licorice. On tasting, subtle notes of graphite and earth are revealed, anchoring this wine distinctively in the southern region of France. On the palate, it stands out for its well-balanced body, remarkable concentration, exceptionally fine tannins and a fresh, long-lasting finish.
