The 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Des Cadettes shows more elegance and purity, with notes of black raspberry, spice box, dried flowers and ample rocky minerality. It's medium- to full-bodied, with fine tannins, a classic, balanced and elegant texture, and an excellent finish, where the oak adds only a subtle nuance. Give the bottle a few years, and it will keep for a decade. The blend is composed of 47% Grenache, 29% Syrah and the rest Mourvèdre, aged in 40% new barrels. Jeb Dunnuck
