Clos du Mont-Olivet Lirac Marie Jausset 2020

A special small-production cuvée, the 2018 Lirac Marie Jausset is a blend of 50% Cinsault, 40% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre, which is certainly a mix you don't see very often. Partially de-stemmed and matured mainly in vats (with a small proportion in old casks), its ruby/purple hue is followed by a floral, fragrant red showing plenty of strawberries and raspberries, sappy nuances of green flowers and rose petals, a hint of undergrowth, medium body and a juicy, elegant style on the palate. It also has some tannins, and a year's bottle ageing will do it a world of good... Jeb Dunnuck
